Judges report from The Dalmatian Club of NSW INC 75th Anniversary Championship show.

I will start to say how honored I was to be asked to judge your 75th anniversary show. Thank you so much for the hospitality and I must especially say thank you to Mr and Mrs Miller for taking so good care of me and show me Sydney. I really enjoyed my too short stay in Australia. Hope to come back, with my wife and then we will stay longer. I also enjoyed the showground. Perfect for dogshows.

I was very excited to see your Dalmatians. Over all I think you have many really good Dalmatians. I was very happy to see most had very good eyecolor – better than home any way. A few had lighter eyes than home too. You also have many very good movers. To me some were shown in too fast tempo, with the result that the dogs cannot show their best reach – they don’t have the time if you know what I mean.
Many were well angulated in rear, often in front too, but not always in harmony which effect the movements. I think the temperament was excellent. There were two that could been more open, but it was never any problem for me to go through the them and therefore acceptable. I expected lovely spotting and color, and you really havet had. Also very happy to see that 98% or so had perfect coat condition. I’ve never seen so many excellent feets – I didn’t write it in each report, as I here will point out how outstanding the feets are. Perfect. I found some really nice heads – but also some that to me was not so typical.
This was for me the first time I judged ”your” way, and it was more difficult than I expected to write the reports for each dog after the show. Next time I will judge this way, I will record my full reports, so I easily can write exact what I see. A new experience to learn from. Normally my reports would be much more detailed, so I hope you accept what I’ve written anyway.
Some of the classes impressed me very much, and the placings could be different as it had to come to smaller details. I was especially happy with your Open bitches.
If i should point out something I think you should put a bit attention to, is the second thigh. Overall I would liked stronger second thighs. I also would like to see a bit more better developed and longer ribcages.

Special Veteran

1: Sup Ch Sprintaway Chief Cheroke. Very nice overall construction with enough body and power. Wellshaped head with a bit short nose. Well angulated, especially in the rear. A bit weak second thigh. Moves very well all around. Lovely spotting and color. Well kept veteran. Nice temperament.

2: Gr Ch Lukius Solar Flair RN ET. Excellent type, overall construction and proportions. Nice feminin head. Lovely expression and lovely eye color. Correct ribcage. Strong topline. Well angulated especially in the rear. Nicely spotted with some smaller spots. Moves well from the side. Well kept veteran. Nice temperament.

3: Sup Ch Paceaway Kold Kash. Male of good size. Bit short lines in head and rounded skull. Nice neck and strong topline. Excellent angulated. Moves well but a bit extreme in the rear. Movements could be in better harmony in front and rear. Excellent spotting.  Well kept veteran. Nice temperament.

 

Sweepstakes Veteran

1: Ch Neut Ch Coastdal Princess Lilly Rose. Very sweet bitch of very good size, excellent type. Lovely Head. Enough length in body. Soft lines. A bit short ribcage. Enough angulation. A bit better in front. Lovely spotting and color. Enough reach in movement. Overall harmonic movements. Nice temperament.

2: Ch Starswept Galileo. Excellent type and proportions. Nicely shaped head with good lines. Well developed and shaped ribcage. Good harmony in front and rear angulation. Moves very well. Good color. Prefere a bit more distinct spotting. Nice temperament.

3: Gr Ch Starswept Scottish Sovereign Al. Nice size. Lovely typical head. Good body. Long enough ribcage. A bit high tailcarriage. A bit better angulated in front. Moves well. Very good color. Ok spotting. Nice temperament.

 

Open Neuter Dog

1: Aust Ch Adalia Weekend at Chads CD RE TD ET. Overall a quality Dalmatian. Strong, well developed, good proportions. Evenly spotted with good color. A bit better angulated in the rear.  Moves fantastic all around, a bit loose in front. Very nice temperament.

2: Dimadal Obvious Obsession. Nice male on the smaller side. Lovely head. A bit short ribcage. Well developed body. Harmonic angulation. Could been more harmonic in front and rear movement. Excellent color. Good spotting. Nice temperament

3: Hillofsilver Ulysses. Well built male with excellent body. Masculine head. Nicely arched neck. Strong topline. Deep and a bit short ribcage. A bit open angulated in rear. Moves well with a bit better reach in front. Good spotting and color. Nice temperament.

 

Open Neuter Bitch

1: Aust & Neut Ch Dimadal Kenya Live the Dream CD RAE RM ET. Excellent type and proportions. Well shaped head. Nicely arched neck. Well developed ribcage of good lenght. Better angulated in rear. Excellent spotting. Some ticks. Moves very well in full harmony. A bit loose in front. Nice temperament.

Baby Puppy Dog
1:Krystaway Imagine Dragons. Lovely promising puppy. Excellent body for age with lovely forechest. Excellent ribcage of good length. Best movements in front, rear and from the side. Excellent bone, angulations and spotting. Lovely temperament.

2: Outlook Double or Nothing. A bit out of proportions today. Makes a bit too high impression. A bit unfamiliar head. Strong topline. Quite poor in front. Open angulations.  Too much air under him. Moves well from time to time. Excellent spotting and color. Lovely temperament.

 

Baby Puppy Bitch
1. Krystaway All That Glitters. Lovely promising puppy. Lovely head and eyecolor. Excellent ribcage. Excellent proportions. Lovely forechest. Excellent angulations and bone. Excellent movements all around. Ticks spoiles her lovely spotting. Lovely temperament.

2: Gentry Breakfast at Tiffanys. Nicely constructed bitch with good proportions. A bit plain in head. Deep and long enough ribcage. Suitable bone. A bit open angulated in front. A bit too falling croup. Moves quite well. Nice spotting and good color. Nice temperament.

 

Minor Puppy Dog

1: Pacaway I Have a Dram. Excellent size and proportions.  Well developed muzzle. Good eyecolor. A bit weak stop. Good forechest and ribcage. Strong topline. A bit high set tail. Well developed with good bones. Low hocks. Well angulated with good bones. Lovely spotting and color. Moves very well all around.

2: Pampard Pillage N Plunder. Well sized and proportioned. Well developed body. Head need time to develop. Strong topline. A bit falling croup. A bit short but well developed ribcage. Well angulated. Moves well from the side. Very nice spotting and color. Nice temperament.

3: Icspots Son of a Gigolo. Good sized male built a bit short lines. Masculine well shaped head. Strong topline. A bit high set tail. Well developed but a bit short ribcage. Wellbodied. Well laid shoulder, but otherwise a bit open in angulations. Moves in harmony. Good spotting but a few tick. Good color. Nice temperament.

 

Puppy Dog

1: Icspots Shine Like Stars. Excellent type and proportions. Very nice head and eyecolor. Lovely forechest. Long and deep enough ribcage. Well bodied. Very nice neck and withers. Strong topline. Good bone. Well angulated especially in the rear. Moves with excellent stride and reach. A bit better in the rear. Excellent spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

 

Junior Dog

1: Ch Paceaway Box Office. Quite eyecatching male of good size and proportions. Well shaped head with at bit weak muzzle. Nice withers. Strong topline. Deep and long enough ribcage. Well angulated especially in the rear. Good bone. Moves very well. Lovely spotting and color. A bit shy – but still ok in temperament.

2: Ch Darlinghill Hashtag Dot Com. Good size and proportions. A bit unfamiliar head and a bit wide between the eyes which spoils the expression. Nicely arched neck. Strong topline. A bit poor forechest. Deep well developed ribcage. Good bones. Well laid shoulder. A bit straight upperarm. A bit open angulated in rear. A bit weak secondthigh. Moves with lots of energy. Lovely temperament. Excellent spotting and color.

3: Dumbledeer Dare To B Cool. Very nicely framed dog that need more time to fill the whole frame. Lovely head. Unfortunately quite light colored eyes. Missing a little nose pigment. Lovely neck, withers and topline. Good forechest. Ribcage deep enough but a bit short. Excellent angulations. Excellent mover. Lovely temperament.

 

Intermediate Dog

1: Ch Sprintaway Rimfire Red. Full of type. Excellent proportions. Good head with strong enough muzzle. Good eyecolor. Lovely arched neck. Lovely forechest. Correct ribcage. Well angulated. Moves supberb. Excellent spotting, size of spots and color. A bit reserved in the beginning.

2: SUP Ch Paceaway Zaballero. Excellent type, size and proportions. Masculine wellshaped head. Good eyecolor. Lovely neck, withers and topline. Good forechest and well developed ribcage. Strong bone and body. A bit straight upperarm. Otherwise well angulated. Moves very well. Excellent spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

3: Telde The First Cool Harmony. Good size and proportions. Very nice head. A bit light eyes. A bit straight in angulations. Well develped and good lenght of ribcage. Strong bone. Excellent spotting and color. Could move with better reach in the rear. Nice temperament.

 

Australian Bred dog

1: Sup Krystaway Weekend Hustler. Very impressive male of correct size and proportions. Love everything about him. He is not as strong in his rear movement as in front. Otherwise lovely!

2: Ch Thunderspot Right Kindof Wrong. Very impressive strong male without being course. Lovely masculine head. Good topline. A bit poor in forechest. Excellent ribcage. Stong body and bone. Lovely hindquarters. A bit straight in front. Quite high tale spoiles the over all picture. Very good mover. Very nice temperament.

3: Ozzispot The Need T Negotiate. Well proportioned male with lovely head but a bit weak muzzle. Nice arched neck. Very nice topline. A bit poor forechest. Good lenght of ribcage. Would prefere stonger hindquarters. Moves well. Nice temperament.

 

Open dog

1: Gr Ch Starswept Painted From Memory. A very complete male on the smaller side. All parts in harmony. Beside of a bit light bone, I find this male very much to the standard.

2: Sup Ch Paceaway Winter in Vegas. Good size and proportions. Masculine head with strong enough muzzle. Good neck and withers. Strong topline. Good forechest. A bit short ribcage. Well angulated. Moves with good reach in front, not as good in rear. Excellent spotting and color. Lovely temperament.

3: Ch Krystaway Minister of Magic. Excellent type. Very nice head. Long enouch neck, nice withers and strong topline. Good forechest. Well developed body and ribcage of long enough lenght. Excellent front. A bit open angulated in rear. Very nice spotted good color and coat. Moves well. Very nice temperament.

 

Minor Puppy Bitch

1: Paceaway Dream Catcher. Promising puppy. Sweet feminin head under development. Good eyecolor. Long neck. Strong topline. Marked forechest. A bit short ribcage. Still need time to develop overall. Much better angulated in rear which shows in movement today.  Very nice spotting and color. Lovely temperament.

2: Lukius Storm Spell. Very feminin bitch under development. Excellent lines in head. Makes a bit high impression today. Need lots of time. Quite frosty spotting. Moves with lots of drive. Nice temperament.

 

Puppy Bitch

1: Dumbleeder Daring Harmony. Powerful but feminin eyecatching bitch. Well shaped head. A bit light eyes. Well developed for her age. Excellent ribcage. Strong bone and body. Low hocks and strong rear. Well angulated. Moves well with lots of power. Lovely temperament. Excellent spotting and color.

2: Icspots Run To Paradise. A bitch on the smaller side. Still in development. Very nice proportions. Very nice head and expression. Long ribcage that is just deep enough. Well angulated. Moves very well. Excellent spotting and color. Lovely temperament.

 

Junior Bitch

1: Paceaway Rose Tattoo. Excellent type and size. Lovely head and good eye color. Still under development. A bit poor in forechest. Too short ribcage and too tucked up underline. Good bone for her size. Low hocks. Moves very well all around. Very nice spotting and color. Lovely temperament.

2: Starswept Holiday with Alice. Excellent type and size. Lovely head and eyecolor. Good proportions. Well angulated. A bit short ribcage. Moves very well. A bit uneven spotted and only ticks on the tale. Very nice temperament.

3: Adstaff Black Opal. Smaller sized bitch. She makes a bit petit over all impression. Needs much more time. Lovely dark eyes. Very high tale. A bit better angulated in the rear. Good movements. Lovely temperament.

 

Intermediate Bitch

1: Ch Paceaway Winter Chill. Excellent Size and proportions. A bit unfamiliar head and expression. Nice withers and strong topline. Good forechest. Excellent ribcage. Excellent angulated. Moves very well all around. Good color and spotting. Very nice temperament.

2: Ottatella Melisange. Excellent size, proportions and type. Nice head and expression. A bit straight upperarm that effect the movement too much. Korrect ribcage. Good color and spotting. Very nice temperament.

3: Gentry Somewhereovertherainbow. Very sweet bitch on the smaller side. Good proportions. A bit light eyes.  Moves well. Spotting ok. Very nice temperament.

4: DR NC Hillofsilver Umeko. Excellent proportions. A bit course in head. Well angulated especially in the rear. Nice spotting. Moves well.  Nice temperament.

 

Australian Bred Bitch

1: Ch Coastdal Take A Chance on Me RN. Very eyecatching bitch of excellent size and proportions. Lovely head. A bit light eyes. Well angulated, well developed ribcage. Wellbodied. Moves very well. Excellent spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

2: Sup Ch Krystaway Glitterati. Eyecatching bitch of good size and proportions. Very nice head and eyecolor. A bit shallow but long enough ribcage. Straight upperarm make a small disharmony in movement Otherwise well angulated. Moves very well all around. Excellent spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

3: Ch Paceaway Starz in The Sky. Very beautiful over all picture. Nice head. Well developed ribcage. Better angulated in the rear. Could have stronger bones. Very nice spotting and color. Moves very well but a bit sloppy in the front. Very nice temperament.

4: Ch Paceaway Ticket for Roses. Excellent type. Good proportions. Ok head. A bit light eyes. Very nice front. I bit disharmony between front and rear. Excellent mover. Good spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

 

Open Bitch

1: Ch Krystaway Polka Dot Bikini.  Very eyecathing bitch without any obvious faults. Excellent overall construction. Very nice head and eyecolor. Nice forechest. Long enough ribcage. Very nice spotting. Excellent colors. Very well angulated. Strong and powerful. Moves with excellent drive and reach. Very nice temperament.

2: Ch Starswept Siri. Excellent type and proportions. Very eyecathing and lovely overall picture. Lovely head, dark eyes. Very nice topline. Well angulated. Excellent spotting and color. Moves fantastic all around. Lovely temperament. Her underline destroys the picture today.

3: Aust Ch Pampard Phirst Class. Excellent type, size and proportions. Nice head, could have better expression. Strong toopline. Well bodied and well angulated. Suitable bone. Moves very well all around. Vey nice spotting and color. Very nice temperament.

4: Sup Ch Ozzispot Sinners N Shadows. Powerfull bitch. Lovely head and eyecolor. A bit on the heavy side. Excellent ribcage. Well angulated. Very nice spotting and color. Excellent movements. Very nice temperament.
