It is a 4 page document containing the Top 10 poisonous plants and poisons for dogs, some Dalmatian friendly treats, a Purine Chart and an article by Julia Soukup for The Dalmatian Club of America - Preventive Hydration, Diet, Elimination and Exercise Recommendations for a Healthy Dalmatian

2018 HEART CLINIC

The Dalmatian Club of NSW Inc hosted a Heart Clinic in conjunction with our National Show - October 2018.

Results below from Dr Niek Beijerink DVM PhD Dipl. ECVIM-CA (Cardiology) . Please see the attached FAQ's for further information.

A total of 16 Dalmatian dogs were investigated. Five were male, eleven were female, dogs were aged 1 to 11 years of age.

Six dogs were only investigated with physical examination/ auscultation (of which one had a grade 2 murmur, the others were normal on auscultation).

Twelve dogs were investigated with both physical examination and echocardiography. Two dogs were diagnosed with mild atrioventricular degenerative disease (both had murmurs). One dog was suspected to have occult dilated cardiomyopathy (but on physical examination no murmur), emphasising the additional value of echocardiograpy. The other 9 dogs had no evidence of heart disease on echocardiography, which overruled the presence of a soft murmur in 2 of those dogs.
